Well, hello there.
My name is Lauren. I’m Scottish, in my mid – late twenties and I spend a considerable amount of time lost in the pages of a book. Particularly ones with elaborate and fantastical worlds, mystical creatures and wonderful characters.
My love for reading is something that started when I was but a mere child, when my Gran would encourage me to read for at least an hour every night before bed to strengthen the imagination and have good dreams.
It must have worked, because my imagination is wild.
Even now, not a day passes where I don’t read at least a few pages of my current read.
Believe it or not, I have many other interests outside of books. I have two Product Design degrees, and I’m very passionate about Graphic Design (self-taught), writing and I should probably add Anime too, because if I’m not reading or designing something, you can bet I’m watching Anime.
FictionTea
One fateful day on 19th September 2014, FictionTea was created by combining two things that I love, and thinking ‘this works’. One Instagram account creation later, FictionTea was born.
It was originally created to share pictures I had taken of books and to voice my thoughts and opinions on them. There were a lot of thoughts to be shared and not enough book-loving people in my life to share them with. This quickly changed upon joining Bookstagram.

I am currently an Advocate for ‘The Bone Season’ series by Samantha Shannon, which just so happens to be my favourite series of all time. I have loved and supported this series since day one, and it was the series that originally inspired me to start sharing my thoughts and opinions in the online book community.
