Well, I have finally done it. I have finally launched my own blog!
I have quite literally been working on this since May 2016, but due to other arrangements, class assignments and life in general getting in the way, a lot of breaks were taken in the construction of this website. I had originally planned to launch the blog back on September 19th, which happened to be my bookstagram account’s second birthday, but clearly that did not happen.
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Lauren and I’m known as FictionTea in the online book community, specifically on Instagram and Twitter. Being able to talk to fellow readers about books has been an absolute dream and for the past year I have wanted to expand FictionTea into an official book blog where I can hopefully reach and interact more with other bookworms. Over on my Instagram I do book reviews, bookish product reviews, book hauls, bookish DIYS, book discussions, etc and I’m hoping to bring that all here as well as continuing to post on my Instagram.
I’m incredibly excited to finally start posting content on here for you guys, I have so many things planned including: Bookmark and other bookish DIYs, reading snack recipes, book reviews, read-a-longs…Basically, a lot of stuff. I hope you all enjoy my posts, I’m going to aim to post 2 – 3 times a week depending on my College work when I start back.
I also want to wish you all a Happy New Year! And, an absolutely wonderful 2017. I hope it brings you all nothing but happiness and good times.
I tend to set myself New Years Resolutions. However, without fail, I always fail at my resolutions. So, this year I have decided to set myself a word of the year, a word to live by (I did make a thread on Twitter about this).
That word is; Discipline.
Now you’re probably thinking, what? Discipline? Lighten up Lauren.
Hear me out guys. As a creative person, I have always been one to start things, little projects that cost me time and money to carry out. But, before I finish them I get new ideas and then that cycle starts again which leads to more money being spent and then nothing to gain from it, because I never finish them. This year I want to discipline myself to finish what I start. Whether that be TV shows, a book I’m writing, a project I’m starting, etc.
This also applies to me being so damn lazy. I’m going to discipline myself to get up and do something instead of laying in my bed till noon on my days off from college.
I’ve been applying this ‘word for the year’ thing since I started my Bullet Journal and it really is working for me so I hope it continues to as we start 2017.

Hey, I saw your post on instagram about your new blog so I came to say hi. I’m gonna follow you and I’m stupidly excited about your snack recipes. And I say stupidly because I don’t bake and only cook when I have no other option xD
I like that word of the year thingy. I can relate so much with the need to discipline myself to finish things. The same happens with my blog… I get so excited to post at the beginning of the year but as months go by, posts are more and more scarce (haven’t posted since November, I think)…

This blog is so great already! I can’t wait to read your reviews and see all your DIY’s. I have followed you off my bookstagram account too 🙂
I think it’s great that you’ve chosen a word of the year. I can totally relate to the cycle you find yourself in with stopping and starting projects. It’s something I’ve struggled with so long, I can’t seem to pull myself out of the cycle. Maybe having a word of the year myself could help me with that 🙂

Definitely try the word of the year thing, I’m finding it very helpful already! I’m so excited to start posting DIY’s, I’ll probably do a bookmark one soon.

Welcome to the blogger-world!
I found your account on Instagram just recently but I guess I’m a stalker now because I follow you everywhere possible. 😀
I have ton of resolutions for 2017, I think that there are too much but the more there are, the more possibilities to actually achieve some of them! General resolutions include being healthier and more productive. Productive in the same sense you talked about discipline, by doing quite many things, but succeeding at them as well.
Book resolutions are easy, 70 books in 2017 and trying to read at least 1 or 2 classics.
Good luck with your resolution and wishing you all the best with the blogging! It’s great, I’ve been doing it for almost 6 years, and I still don’t plan to stop. 😀
